Celebrating Public Education: 'Telling Tales Out Of School'

ED_PARA has had the privilege of covering People for Education's annual gala fundraiser, 'Telling Tales Out Of School'. As long-standing content creation partners of People for Education, we are always thrilled to support and document this event, which raises essential funds for their research and advocacy in public education.

About the Event

'Telling Tales Out Of School' is a night dedicated to celebrating the promise of public education. This year's event, held on June 11th, 2024 at the Young People’s Theatre in Toronto, marked the 19th annual gala. Hosted by the hilarious comedian Gavin Crawford, the evening featured readings and performances by professional actors Humberly Gonzalez and Daren Herbert, author Linwood Barclay, students of the Rosedale Jazz Combo, musician David French, as well as musician and songwriter Kevin Drew of Broken Social Scene.

Fundraising Auction and Raffle Draw

A significant highlight of the yearly event is the fundraising auction and raffle draw. This year, attendees had the opportunity to bid on and win an array of delightful items and experiences generously donated by individuals and businesses. From exclusive getaways to sports experiences and unique art pieces, the auction and raffle draw added an extra layer of excitement to the evening while playing a crucial role in raising additional funds to support People for Education's vital work.

The Importance of Public Education

In today's challenging world, the need for robust public education systems has never been more critical. People for Education plays a vital role in shining a light on facts, speaking truth to power, and driving necessary changes in the education system. The funds raised from this gala support their ongoing research and advocacy efforts, ensuring a brighter future for our children and, in turn, society.

At ED_PARA, we are committed to enhancing communication within the education sector. Working with People for Education allows us to contribute to meaningful advocacy and support initiatives that make a difference in public education. We are proud to be part of their journey and to help amplify their voice in the fight for better education systems.
