Winning, On and Off the Ice: Branksome Hockey Day 2024

We are thrilled to share with you the fun and excitement of Branksome Hockey Day 2024, an event full of athletic prowess, school pride, and community spirit. Held on February 14th, 2024 at the iconic Toronto Metropolitan University's Mattamy Athletic Centre (the former home of the Toronto Maple Leafs), this showdown between Branksome Hall School and Greenwood College School left an indelible mark on all that attended.

From the moment we got the cameras going, we knew this would be no ordinary game. The stands pulsated with energy as fans, decked in vibrant hues of green, red, and white, rallied behind the Branksome Highlanders. Of course, adding to the spectacle was the school's spirited mascot, Ribbit, whose infectious enthusiasm got the crowd hopping.

But it was on the ice where the real drama unfolded. From the first drop of the puck, it was clear that both teams were prepared to leave everything on the ice. Holding on until the third period, the Greenwood Grizzlies valiantly fought off the Highlanders, but by the third period, the home team has taken the lead never to relinquish it. One player shone brightest - Branksome Hall team captain Jamie. With steely resolve and unparalleled skill, the captain led by example, rallying her teammates with powerful skating, precise passes, and powerful shots.
