Rotman Career Services Resource Videos

For this project, we collaborated closely with the Rotman Commerce team to develop a comprehensive series of video resources aimed at enhancing students' understanding of how employers evaluate applicant submissions. These videos were filmed on-site at the University of Toronto's Rotman School of Management and were expertly hosted by career advisor Mollo Miller. The primary goal was to equip students with invaluable insights into the dos and don'ts of the job search process.

The first video featured an insightful conversation with Minami Alguire, the Manager of Campus Talent Acquisition at Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan. This segment delved deep into the intricacies of Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS). Minami explained what ATS are, how they function, and offered strategic advice on how students can effectively navigate these systems to increase their chances of success.

The second video shifted focus to the critical skill of crafting effective accomplishment-based statements for resumes. This is a fundamental competency for university students aspiring to secure employment after graduation. The video provided practical tips and examples, illustrating how students can highlight their achievements and skills in a way that resonates with potential employers.

Together, these videos served as an essential resource for Rotman Commerce students, offering them a clearer understanding of the next steps in their career journey. By demystifying the employer evaluation process and emphasizing the importance of well-crafted skills statements, we empowered students to approach their job searches with confidence and strategic insight.
